Polish Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz has thanked Slovakia for approving the deployment of its troops as part of NATO’s Eastern Sentry operation. More than 100 Slovak soldiers will be sent to Poland and Romania to monitor airspace and support air defence.
The troops will also use Slovakia’s new 3D radars to identify potential drone threats. NATO launched Eastern Sentry in September 2025 in response to several violations of Allied airspace.
