Slovak Prosecutor General Maroš Žilinka will turn to an administrative court over a disciplinary sanction imposed on Slovak Intelligence Service Director Pavol Gašpar. The move comes after President Peter Pellegrini rejected a prosecutor’s request to overturn the penalty.
Pellegrini imposed a 15-percent salary reduction for one month following Gašpar’s traffic accident in 2025. Žilinka argues that the disciplinary decision was unlawful and did not sufficiently specify the offence. The President stands by his decision, saying that as a public official, the intelligence chief must accept greater responsibility for his actions than an ordinary citizen.
