Slovakia's National Council hosted a two-week camp for fifteen Ukrainian children affected by the war, some of whom lost relatives or saw loved ones seriously injured. Speaker Richard Raši (Hlas-SD) said the aim was to give the children a taste of ordinary life, and confirmed the camp will return next year. The idea came from a similar Polish initiative. Children's Rights Commissioner Jozef Mikloško said the camp offered peace and safety, with visits to Bratislava, castles, and the zoo - and noted around 40,000 Ukrainian children currently live in Slovakia. The children came from across Ukraine, including Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, and Zakarpattia. The Interior Ministry and Slovakia's embassy in Kyiv also took part in organising the project.
