Representatives of several European cities and municipalities are meeting in Fiľakovo in southern Slovakia to discuss the future of Europe and cooperation between local governments. The meeting is part of the European Platform of Local Governments, an international project involving Fiľakovo, Szécsény in Hungary, Ustrzyki Dolne in Poland and Sâncraiu in Romania.
The programme includes expert discussions, an exchange of experience and a conference focusing on current EU issues and the future of Europe. Participants will also visit development projects in Fiľakovo supported by EU funding and learn about the city’s experience in using European resources.
