A team of Slovak firefighters continues its mission in France's Gironde department.
According to the Slovak Fire and Rescue Corps, each day begins with a thorough inspection of equipment, vehicles and protective gear. The team then receives an operational sector and focuses on locating and extinguishing hidden hotspots that could cause the fire to flare up again.
The Slovak firefighters are working closely with their French counterparts. After intervention work is completed, the affected area is jointly inspected with the sector commander. The Slovak team's work has been positively assessed by the French side.
The mission has also included a meeting with Gironde Fire and Rescue Service director Marc Vermeulen and coordination with French commanders in individual sectors.
The town of La Brde also thanked the Slovak team by presenting its firefighters with a commemorative plaque in recognition of their work in France.
