Record June for Slovak Tourism

Slovakia recorded its busiest June ever for hotel and guesthouse stays, according to the Statistical Office. Around 640,000 people stayed in accommodation facilities across the country, up 5.6 percent year-on-year and almost five percent above the previous June record set in 2019.

Domestic visitors made up nearly two-thirds of all guests, with their numbers up almost seven percent from last year. Foreign arrivals rose by almost four percent to 242,000. Czech visitors were the largest group, followed by tourists from Poland. Guests spent a total of 1.5 million nights in Slovakia during June.

The Žilina Region recorded its strongest June on record, while Bratislava remained the most popular destination for international visitors. In the first half of 2026, three million guests visited Slovakia, eight percent more than a year earlier, with international tourism growing faster than domestic tourism.
