Trenčín, the European Capital of Culture for 2026, recorded an exceptionally successful spring season, with a sharp increase in both visitor numbers and overnight stays. The city set new historical records in both April and May. May was particularly strong, bringing an all-time monthly record for both the number of visitors and overnight stays. Compared with the same month last year, the number of overnight stays increased by 50.8 percent, while visitor numbers rose by 64.9 percent.
A total of 13,383 tourists stayed overnight in Trenčín in May, the highest monthly figure recorded in the city’s history.
