Human Rights Organisations Report Criticises Slovakia

Human rights organisations have submitted a shadow report to the UN Committee, highlighting serious shortcomings in the protection of the rights of people with disabilities in Slovakia, including segregation in education, discrimination, and barriers to accessing services. They are calling on the state to introduce concrete measures, such as support for inclusive education, better protection of women with disabilities, and greater involvement of affected people in decision-making. The UN Committee will review Slovakia’s compliance with its commitments on 19 August and will subsequently issue recommendations to improve the protection of their rights.
