Nearly 9,900 Ukrainian refugees were registered in Slovak schools at the end of June, according to the Education Ministry. The ministry notes that many Ukrainian children have since obtained temporary or permanent residence and are therefore no longer included in these statistics, although they continue attending Slovak schools. If a school cannot admit a child due to capacity limits, the regional education authority is required to find a place at another school.
