Low water levels on the Danube have prevented vessels with a deeper draught from navigating certain sections of the river, forcing them to remain in ports and anchorages. Water management authorities have also adjusted the operation of the Gabčíkovo Waterworks to conserve water. The measures will remain in force until hydrological conditions improve.
