Slovakia is facing an increased risk of forest fires. Long lasting high temperatures, drought and sometimes strong winds create extremely dangerous conditions in which even a small source of fire can cause a large-scale fire with serious consequences. The Agriculture Ministry asks the public to respect bans on entry to forests and follow the instructions of the responsible authorities.
