Castle and Heritage Repairs Funding Remains Uncertain

Funding for the restoration of castles and historical monuments remains unclear this year, as applicants are still waiting to find out whether they will receive support from the Culture Ministry. Volunteers restoring Hrušov Castle for more than two decades say missing subsidies are threatening further work. The ministry says it has already evaluated applications and will publish the results by the end of July. Funding for heritage restoration has also decreased in recent years. While the budget was almost 15 million euros three years ago, this year it stands at around 8.3 million euros, with the ministry citing consolidation measures.
