Slovakia and Azerbaijan have signed an agreement on the exchange and mutual protection of classified information.
The agreement was signed in Baku by the head of Slovakia's National Security Authority, Roman Konečný, during talks with Azerbaijan's State Security Service. According to Azerbaijani authorities, the agreement is intended to deepen security cooperation between the two countries.
Slovakia and Azerbaijan have strengthened bilateral ties in recent years, following the establishment of a strategic partnership signed by Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) and President Ilham Aliyev in 2024. President Peter Pellegrini also visited Azerbaijan last week to discuss further cooperation in areas including energy, technology and defence.
