Slovakia's High Tatras have been shortlisted for the Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards 2026 in the category of Europe's Most Desirable Region.
According to the regional tourism organisation, the nomination reflects the growing international reputation of the High Tatras, supported by increasing numbers of foreign visitors, improved air connections and stronger promotion abroad.
More than 200,000 readers of the British travel magazine are expected to vote for this year's winners. Voting remains open until 27 October, with the results to be announced during the World Travel Market in London in November.
