Slovakia has dispatched nearly eight tonnes of humanitarian aid to Venezuela following the devastating earthquake that struck the country. The shipment left Bratislava Airport after the earlier deployment of the Slovak MUSAR rescue team.
The aid package includes tents, beds, blankets, pumps and hygiene supplies worth more than €65,000. The operation forms part of the European Union’s wider response under the Union Civil Protection Mechanism, with transport costs co-financed by the EU.
