Regular voluntary blood donors in Slovakia will receive new benefits at selected state cultural institutions from 1 July under a joint initiative by the Culture and Health Ministries. The programme offers discounts and other advantages to holders of the Ján Kňazovický Medal and the Janský Gold and Diamond Plaques in recognition of their long-term blood donations. Participating institutions include the Slovak National Gallery, the Slovak Technical Museum and several libraries and cultural centres. The two ministries also signed a memorandum on long-term cooperation aimed at promoting voluntary blood donation and encouraging more people to become donors.
