PM Calls for Ukraine Peace Talks

Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) told the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk that the war in Ukraine has no military solution and should end through negotiations. He said an earlier peace agreement would make the country's reconstruction easier and allow millions of Ukrainians to return home. Fico highlighted energy cooperation as a key area of Slovak-Ukrainian partnership and added that Slovakia has provided more than 35 million euros in humanitarian and development aid and has offered protection to over 150,000 people fleeing the war. During the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tomáš Drucker (Hlas-SD) signed a memorandum to strengthen Slovak-Ukrainian business and investment cooperation.
