Fuel prices in Slovakia have dropped significantly, reflecting lower global oil prices driven by ongoing talks between the United States and Iran. According to Finax economist Patrik Kindl, the average price of petrol has fallen to 1.65 euros per litre, while diesel has dropped even more sharply to 1.53 euros per litre. Diesel prices in Slovakia recorded the biggest weekly decline among neighbouring countries. Kindl said diesel is once again cheaper than petrol due to seasonal demand, local refinery production and tax differences.
