Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) presented the priorities of Slovakia’s upcoming presidency of the Visegrad Group during a summit of V4 leaders in Hungary.
The Slovak presidency, which begins on July 1, will focus on four key areas: strengthening EU competitiveness, supporting a fair enlargement process, expanding cooperation in defense, migration, healthcare and transport, and promoting people-to-people contacts through the International Visegrad Fund.
Fico also called for closer coordination among V4 countries before European Union summits. The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening regional cooperation, particularly in transport, energy, digitalization and cybersecurity.
