Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday ahead of the European Council meeting in Brussels, with the Slovak Premier praising their dialogue, even though he and Zelenskyy don't share the same views on all issues.
According to Fico, the meeting focused on practical issues. They discussed preparations for joint talks between the governments of Slovakia and Ukraine, the current situation, and the expansion of the European Union.
"The dialogue is taking on a quite interesting and positive quality. I'm personally pleased about this, although I repeat that we have differing views on many issues, and I believe that I'll meet President Zelenskyy again in Gdansk next week, where another major summit concerning Ukraine is due to take place," said Fico.
The Ukraine Recovery Conference is set to take place in Gdansk, Poland, on 25-26 June. The event will focus on the sectors most affected by Russian aggression, including energy, critical infrastructure, and logistics.
