Slovak ATM Bombing Suspect Arrested in Budapest

Hungarian police have arrested a Slovak man suspected of carrying out a series of ATM robberies using explosives in Slovakia. According to a statement published on the Hungarian police website on 17 June, the suspect allegedly blew up and robbed several ATMs in Slovakia in May 2026 before fleeing to Hungary. Investigators tracked him to Budapest, where he was reportedly hiding in the capital. The man was arrested on 12 June in the underground garage of a residential building in Budapest’s Ferencváros district.
