The 32nd International Film Festival Art Film opens in Košice on Friday, launching a week of screenings, masterclasses, industry meetings and accompanying cultural events. Running through 25 June, the festival will welcome renowned filmmakers from around the world, including directors Fatih Akin, Siddiq Barmak, Mohammed Almughanni and Piotr Domalewski. Among the Slovak guests are acclaimed actress Anna Šišková and singer Richard Müller.
Founded in 1993 in Trenčianske Teplice under the auspices of UNESCO, Art Film Fest is the longest-running international film festival in Slovakia. Since 2016, it has been held in Košice, where it continues to be one of the country's leading cinematic events.
