The governing Smer-SD party has rejected any suggestions of nepotism in response to statements by opposition parties concerning recent findings that Juraj Richter, the son of Smer-SD parliamentary caucus head Jan Richter, is serving on the management board of state oil transporter Transpetrol and that he may not be qualified for the post.
"Juraj Richter duly took part in the announced selection procedure for the post of a member of Transpetrol's management board, which was organised by the shareholder, and he complied with all the required qualifications and professional criteria for the post,"
claimed Smer-SD.
The governing coalition party also stated that it would neither comment on political statements nor their interpretation.
"We reject any suggestions of nepotism and any attempts to link the selection process and performance of this post with MP Jan Richter," added the party.
