Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) welcomed Indian Premier Narendra Modi at Bratislava Castle on Monday. This is the first-ever official visit by an Indian premier to Slovakia. The two leaders are scheduled to hold bilateral talks.
Modi will also meet with Slovak President Peter Pellegrini. One of the main topics of discussion will be expanding cooperation between Slovakia and India in the areas of trade and investment, with bilateral trade reaching €1.6 billion in 2025.
The Indian Prime Minister will fly directly from Slovakia to France for the G7 summit, with the Slovak Republic being the only Central European country he visits.
