The President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola is visiting Slovakia, where she is discussing a proposed reform of EU electoral rules. The changes would allow pregnant Members of the European Parliament and new mothers to delegate their voting rights to another lawmaker.
Metsola discussed the proposal with Slovak parliamentary speaker Richard Raši (Hlas-SD). Their talks also covered European competitiveness, the EU’s long-term budget, and support for Ukraine. Metsola is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD).
