Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár (Smer-SD) visited Tanzania and Kenya this week to strengthen Slovakia’s presence in East Africa. In Tanzania, he held talks with Foreign Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo on expanding economic cooperation in areas such as technology, agriculture and infrastructure. Tanzania also pledged support for Slovakia’s bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2028–2029 term.
In Kenya, Blanár visited the St. Philip Neri School in Joska, one of Slovakia’s most successful development projects in Africa. Supported through the SlovakAid programme, the school now educates nearly 900 students and ranks among the country’s top-performing educational institutions.
