The sixth annual Presidential Blood Donation Drive took place today at the Grassalkovich Palace. Organised by the President’s Office and the National Transfusion Service of Slovakia, the event marked the start of celebrations for World Blood Donor Day on June 14. Officials stress that blood is needed every two minutes in Slovakia and that a single donation can help save up to three lives. Registered donors will also have the opportunity to visit the ceremonial premises of the Presidential Palace.
