Slovak winemakers achieved major success at the 12th annual Danube Wine Challenge held at Chateau Bela in southern Slovakia.
Fifty international wine experts evaluated a record number of entries from 11 countries. More than half of the competing wines came from Slovak producers.
The top Prix Vinofed awards in four categories were all won by Slovak wineries, while domestic producers also received the majority of Grand Gold and Gold medals awarded during the competition.
The winners will be officially honoured later this month at a gala event in Bratislava.
