Slovakia and Croatia have signed a new defence cooperation agreement aimed at expanding bilateral ties and strengthening long-term partnership between the two countries. The deal was signed in Zagreb on Monday by Slovak Defence Minister Robert Kaliňák (SMER-SD) and his Croatian counterpart Ivan Anušić.
Under the agreement, Slovakia will offer Croatia ammunition and armoured vehicles, while Croatia will supply combat helmets for the Slovak Armed Forces. Slovakia is already using Croatian expertise in sourcing specialised fabrics for new military uniforms and plans to extend cooperation to ballistic protection equipment. Croatia has also expressed interest in joining European SAFE framework contracts for the purchase of ammunition and other products from defence industry.
