Slovak parliament resumed its session on Tuesday with opposition efforts to remove Education Minister Tomáš Drucker (HLAS-SD) from office. However, lawmakers failed for a second time to open the extraordinary no-confidence debate after too few MPs were present to reach a quorum. Another attempt is scheduled for Wednesday. The opposition accuses Drucker of mishandling the new ePrihlášky school admissions system, describing it as costly, untested and poorly designed.
Parliament then moved on to regular business, including healthcare legislation aimed at improving access to medicines by removing limits on exceptional drug reimbursements. Lawmakers are also expected to debate a motion to remove parliamentary vice-speaker Tibor Gašpar (SMER-SD) and hear a report on last year’s state finances.
