The European Commission has urged Slovakia to continue reforms aimed at strengthening economic growth and competitiveness.
The recommendations, issued as part of the European Semester process, focus on economic, social, employment and budgetary policies for the coming years.
Peter Stano, head of the European Commission Representation in Bratislava, said the recommendations are designed primarily to help Slovakia's own development rather than simply align the country with EU priorities.
According to the Commission, Slovakia needs a better business environment, more investment in research, innovation and clean energy, as well as a more dynamic labour market. Stano noted that EU funding is available to support many of these goals.
