Slovak journalist Filip Struhárik has won second place at the European Journalism Awards. The Independent daily - Denník N reporter was recognised in the Public Discourse category for his essay on loneliness and other challenges facing men. The award honours journalism that helps shape important public debate.
Struhárik is one of Slovakia’s most prominent investigative journalists. To date, Beata Balogová is the only Slovak journalist to have won a European Journalism Award in first place.
