President Peter Pellegrini on Tuesday received Supreme Court chair František Mozner, who briefed him on his first year in office and on the current challenges facing the Slovak judiciary.
One of the main issues of the meeting was a set of systemic measures adopted by the Supreme Court. Mozner outlined in particular the introduction of a regular staff survey on the working conditions of judges and court employees aimed at identifying shortcomings and improving the institution's performance.
He also informed the President about the court's judicial results. In 2025, the number of resolved submissions exceeded the number of new submissions, leading to a reduction in the overall number of pending cases.
Pellegrini welcomed efforts to improve the functioning of the judiciary and underlined that a stable and efficient justice system is a fundamental prerequisite for public trust in the rule of law.
