North Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova arrived in Slovakia on Monday for an official visit aimed at strengthening ties between the two countries. During her stay, she meets Slovak President Peter Pellegrini on Tuesday, Parliament Speaker Richard Raši (HLAS-SD) and Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Robert Kaliňák (SMER-SD).
The leaders are expected to discuss closer cooperation in areas including trade, investment, energy, transport and development projects. The visit follows talks launched during President Pellegrini’s trip to Skopje last October and builds on a memorandum on economic cooperation signed at that time. Slovakia says the visit is an opportunity to reaffirm its support for North Macedonia’s European aspirations and its role as a NATO ally.
