Combating illegal migration, organised crime, and hybrid threats were among the key topics discussed during a meeting in Bratislava on Friday between Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) and Serbian Defence Minister Bratislav Gašić.
“Cooperation with the countries of the Western Balkans has long played an important role in our foreign policy, and we consider Serbia to be an important partner in this region,” said Fico. He added that Belgrade holds strategic importance for the stability of the whole of Central Europe.
The Prime Minister also noted that Slovakia’s participation in KFOR is further evidence that the Western Balkans remain a foreign policy priority for Slovakia.
