Slovak MPs will debate an opposition motion to dismiss Environment Minister Tomáš Taraba (SNS) on June 1. The proposal was submitted by opposition party PS, which accuses the minister of failures in nature protection, mismanagement of national park zoning and putting recovery plan funding at risk.
Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) has meanwhile said that if trust between Taraba and the party SNS is not restored by the end of September, personnel changes may follow. Taraba himself has acknowledged that he could leave the post.
