More than half of Slovaks are unsure whether they can safely distinguish content created by artificial intelligence (AI) from reality. The highest level of uncertainty was found among those over 60 years of age, according to a survey conducted by Go4insight agency.
According to the data, 62 percent of Slovaks encounter online content of questionable authenticity at least once a week, with nearly two-thirds of them seeing it every day. The data also show that 46 percent of the respondents are confident in their ability to tell AI-generated content from real content, but only 8 percent say that they can recognise it with absolute certainty.
Young people of up to 24 years of age reported doubts about the authenticity of content most frequently; however, this group also declared a higher degree of certainty in terms of identifying AI content. The same applied to groups with higher incomes or education, as well as people from Bratislava, with men being slightly more confident about recognising AI content than women.
