Slovakia has reopened its honorary consulate in Tampere after nearly a decade. Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár (Smer-SD) said the office will focus mainly on economic diplomacy and strengthening business ties. The new honorary consul, Harri Jaskari, is expected to help connect Slovak and Finnish companies and support investment opportunities. The move reflects growing interest in cooperation in areas such as technology, innovation, and research, with Slovakia now operating two honorary consulates in Finland.
