President Receives Credentials from Four New Ambassadors

President Peter Pellegrini received credentials from the new Bulgarian Ambassador to Slovakia Snezhana Yoveva Dimitrov in the Presidential Palace on Tuesday.

The new Bulgarian ambassador has many years of experience in the fields of public and cultural diplomacy and knows Slovakia well, thanks to her study of the Slovak language, as well as cooperation on Slovak-Bulgarian scientific and cultural projects. "Slovak-Bulgarian bilateral relations have long been very good, with the two countries cooperating closely within the European Union and NATO. The Slovak President therefore believes that the new ambassador will contribute to the further development of bilateral relations and cooperation between our two countries," stated the President's Office.

The President also received credentials from three non-resident ambassadors, representing Thailand, Laos and Guatemala.

Thailand's Ambassador, Pattarat Hongtong, previously served on diplomatic missions in Tokyo, Moscow and Bern, as well as in the post of ambassador to India. The Laotian Ambassador, Khampheng Douangthongla, has held several diplomatic posts, including at the UN in New York and at the embassy in Washington. The new Ambassador of Guatemala, Gabriel Orellana Zabalza, has served at the permanent missions to the UN in Geneva and New York, as well as at the embassy in Belgium during his diplomatic career.
