Slovak Parliament Speaker Richard Raši (HLAS-SD) says the Visegrad Four countries should work more closely together, with post-war reconstruction in Ukraine becoming a key shared priority. Speaking in Bratislava alongside Polish Sejm Speaker Włodzimierz Czarzasty, Raši said Slovakia’s upcoming V4 Presidency, beginning on July 1st, aims to strengthen cooperation among Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic. He said the region could play an important role in rebuilding Ukraine, particularly through infrastructure projects and special financial support schemes. Raši also said Ukrainian Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk should be invited to future V4 meeting.
Czarzasty stressed said Poland sees new opportunities for stronger collaboration within the group following recent political developments in Hungary, adding that meaningful V4 cooperation depends on a shared stance towards Russia and the war in Ukraine. The two officials also discussed support initiatives for children of Ukrainian soldiers.
