Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has thanked Slovakia for its support of Serbia’s territorial integrity and its bid to join the European Union during a meeting in Baku with Slovak Environment Minister Tomáš Taraba (SNS nominee) at the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
Vučić said he discussed ways to strengthen cooperation with Slovakia in areas including infrastructure, energy, environmental protection and sustainable urban development. He also invited Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico (SMER-SD) to visit Serbia, expressing confidence that bilateral political and economic ties will continue to grow. Taraba said Slovakia values Serbia’s care for the Slovak minority and supports its EU accession process, while also criticising what he called a “double standard” in assessing candidate countries.
