President Peter Pellegrini on Friday signed an amendment to the Public Procurement Act approved by Parliament on 5 May. The amendment will, for example, enable preliminary checks of tenders by the Public Procurement Office (UVO) to be carried out immediately before the signing of a contract rather than before the launch of a public procurement procedure, with the aim of reducing errors.
MPs debated the government-sponsored amendment via a fast-track procedure. The amendment to the Public Procurement Act will take effect on the day of its promulgation.
