Slovakia is looking to strengthen cooperation with Algeria in areas such as energy and political dialogue among others. The topic was discussed during a working visit by State Secretary Marek Eštok, who also confirmed plans to open a Slovak embassy in Algeria. During talks with Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf, both sides highlighted growing bilateral relations and interest in expanding cooperation. Algeria’s role as a major gas supplier to Europe was identified as a key area for future partnership. Slovakia aims to deepen economic ties and support joint investment projects, while continuing preparations for a formal agreement on economic cooperation.
