Slovakia and Azerbaijan Strengthen Strategic Partnership in Energy and Innovation Projects

The Speaker of the Slovak parliament Richard Raši met Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku on Wednesday to discuss the further development of strategic cooperation between the two countries. Raši shared on social media that the talks focused on energy security, support for Slovak investments, and new opportunities for Slovak companies operating in Azerbaijan.

He also highlighted cooperation on a “smart village” project in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, which involves Slovak experts. Raši noted his satisfaction that Slovak companies are able to implement modern projects far beyond the country’s borders, adding that Slovakia is the first country to secure a state contract to develop such a smart village in the region.

Raši is scheduled to visit the area on Friday, including the village of Bash Garvand in the Aghdam district. During the trip, he will also sign a memorandum of understanding with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova, aiming to further institutionalize bilateral relations and provide a stable framework for long-term cooperation between the two countries.
