Slovak and Georgian Speakers Stress Importance of Parliamentary Ties

Slovak Parliament Speaker Richard Raši (HLAS-SD) and Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili highlighted the importance of parliamentary dialogue during talks in Bratislava on Monday. The meeting marked the first official visit by a Georgian parliamentary speaker to Slovakia.

The two leaders discussed closer cooperation between parliamentary committees, Georgia’s European integration, and the sharing of Slovakia’s EU accession experience. Raši reaffirmed Slovakia’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The talks also focused on economic ties, energy diversification, tourism, culture and education. Raši described Georgia as an important strategic transit route for Slovakia and also welcomed the new direct flight connection between Bratislava and Kutaisi.
