Prime Minister Robert Fico will travel to Germany on Thursday for meetings in Munich and a visit to the Dachau concentration camp memorial. In Munich, he is scheduled to meet Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder to discuss bilateral relations and economic cooperation. Fico will also address the Slovak-Bavarian Business and Expert Conference focused on the automotive industry.
The visit will conclude with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Dachau memorial site, honoring victims of Nazism. Dachau, established in 1933, became one of the symbols of Nazi terror before being liberated by the U.S. Army in April 1945.
The trip is part of broader commemorations marking key moments in the defeat of fascism. Fico is also expected to attend ceremonies in Normandy marking the anniversary of the D-Day landings.
