The Slovak government has announced the end of restrictions on diesel fuel purchases introduced earlier this year. Beginning Friday, limits on filling external containers with diesel fuel will be removed, along with the system of dual fuel pricing for domestic and foreign vehicles.
Economy Minister Denisa Saková (Hlas-SD) said the decision responds to concerns raised by the European Commission over unequal pricing practices. She defended current fuel prices in Slovakia, saying they remain comparable with neighboring countries.
Saková also confirmed that Slovakia does not plan to reduce fuel taxes and will instead continue working with the Slovnaft refinery to stabilize prices.
