Slovakia is strengthening ties with Algeria, which officials describe as one of the country’s most promising partners in North Africa.
State Secretary Marek Eštok met with Algeria’s ambassador to Slovakia to discuss expanding cooperation in energy, infrastructure, defense, education, digital technologies, and water management. Algeria is one of the world’s largest natural gas producers, making energy security a key topic during the talks.
Slovak officials also highlighted opportunities for cooperation in agriculture and environmental technologies. The government is preparing to open a new embassy in Algiers later this year to support economic cooperation and strengthen Slovakia’s presence in the region.
