The Association of Employers' Unions (AZZZ) welcomes new initiatives by the Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Ministry aimed at promoting school attendance among children and motivating the unemployed to enter the workforce.
According to them, the shortage of skilled workers is increasingly hampering Slovak companies and the entire economy, which is why they are calling for systemic solutions that begin at an early age.
AZZZ praised the ministry's 'Work Instead of Benefits' project, which aims to motivate people to actively participate in the labour market. According to employers, the social welfare system should primarily serve those who find themselves in genuine need. "Support should temporarily help people get through difficult times, not create long-term economic dependence," emphasized AZZZ head Rastislav Machunka.
