A client service centre was officially opened in the town of Michalovce (Košice region) on Tuesday, although it had already been open to the public since late March.
The centre will serve approximately 200 clients on a daily basis. During a month-long trial period, staff processed nearly 7,000 requests. Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok (Hlas-SD) noted at the opening ceremony that it's one of the most modern client service centres.
Under one roof, the public has access to services related to sole traders' licences, road transport, the land registry, the environment and forestry. The centre also includes police services for issuing documents and vehicle registration, as well as an energy assistance office.
The centre in Michalovce is the 70th client service centre in Slovakia and the sixth in Kosice region. The state has been building them since 2013 as part of the ESO reform with the aim of providing simpler and more accessible government services to people.
